I do not wish to insult the intelligence of any of our readers, but I had a conversation today with a somebody vehement in their opposition to the British government’s austerity plan.
After fruitlessly trying to agree terms of the debate, I decided to end the conversation when my opponent could not differentiate between the Net national debt, and the budget deficit. It was not my opponent’s shortcoming; it is “newspeak”, the fictional language of George Orwell that pervade our worl; Up is down, black is white, questions are thought crimes and dissent is treason.Initially my thoughts were of anger, but it made me realize just how deeply ingrained government/ party political propaganda is, and this makes the needs for facts ever more needful. In search of these facts I came across this website, that could not say it any plainer.
