The German role in creating the crisis

E-mail
Germany is without doubt one of my favourite countries, yet to be really specific, most of my experience comes from Bavaria and Berlin. For residents of both places, many would argue if they consider themselves as German.

As an elderly gent on Munich's U bahn sytem corrected my language or lack thereof:

Nein, Je nicht sprekeen Bayaerisch.

So it is with some pleasure that German magazine Der Spiegel has picked up on what we have asked many times before: Why is Germany forcing the issue home.

It is almost like Germans want to be cast as the bad guy in the collapse of the euro.

UPDATE:

Think Greece's current economic malaise is the worst ever experienced in Europe?

Think again. Germany, economic historian Albrecht Ritschl argues in a SPIEGEL ONLINE interview, has been the worst debtor nation of the past century.
