The games politicians play.

If you had to choose between the intelligence of your next door neighbour and a politician, most would favour the politician. I think we would expect the politician has a high standard of education, more experience, and sources of information beyond mere mortals.

So why have politicians proven to been so incompetent, so out of touch with recent events?

We have proposed Germany is not incompetent, and have been deliberately creating a greater and greater crisis to further their vision of European integration, regardless of what the public want.

That is why it is interesting to have been sent this article on the US president

"Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within."

Which links to what is known as the Cloward–Piven strategy. Via Wikipedia:

The Cloward–Piven strategy is a political strategy outlined in 1966 by American sociologists and political activists Richard Cloward (1926-2001) and Frances Fox Piven (b. 1932) that called for overloading the U.S. public welfare system in order to precipitate a crisis that would lead to a replacement of the welfare system with a national system of "a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty".

Few members of the British parliament have a degree in economics. Dozens are lawyers, but most are political beasts that studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE).

This suggests to me that, most would have studied and debated and perhaps adopted, philosophies as laid out above.

What these schemes and philosophies are I do not know, but I would lay money on the fact that it will not be what is in the best interests of you and I.
