We have two teams in the USA at the moment, two guys in Florida and one at the New York Money Show. Without any formal instructions from our clients, our man in NY attended the auction "just in case".
However, we would have been time better spent elsewhere: bargains were short on the ground.
According to CNN:
"a masterpiece of ancient Greek art," had a pre-sale estimate of $650,000 and may eventually go under the hammer for as much as $1 million.
That coin sold for $3,250,000.
The total auction hammer price including buyers' fee reaching $25 Million.
